Art is many things.

Words woven through different emotions.

Inks stroked in different patterns.

Manipulation of nature to create amazing photos.

And many other.

It is the expression of one's heart, and imagination. After all, only our vast imagination is our weapon in the cruel reality the world shoots at us in every direction. Moreover, art is the portrait of an artist' soul. It is how an individual expresses himself to the world. Thus, art is something that must be respected, and admired the same way we do to a person.

In Philosophical terms, Plato defined art as "mimesis", in Greek translation, it means mimicking or copying. Art, therefore, is imitating the beauty and uniqueness of nature. It is making a replica of something meaningful and turning it into more extraordinary masterpiece. These leads people to think that the greatest arts are those who can replicate the real thing more.

According to Gordon Graham, people is driven to place a higher value on a more lifelike portrait, such as those created by great artists - Michelangelo, Rubens, etc. However, today, representation is not the only measure of art.

Expression is an important value of art. The expression of different feeling is what makes the art truly original. Viewer's response to the portrait of one's emotions is also important, since one purpose of art is to connect to the audience. It is evident in today's society as art itself evolves to evoke response from the viewers.

In abstract art, formal qualities are what critics look in, as well as the basic principle of art - balance, rhythm, harmony, unity, etc. An influence theorists in the 18th century, Immanuel Kant, believed that a true art does not have a concept, but is judged on its formal qualities alone, and its context is not of aesthetic interest.

Featuring an ink stained art that captures the attention of many, we hope that you enjoy this.
